Chromalux® Full Spectrum PAR20 60W
A striking, elegant option for recessed lighting
The Chromalux® Full Spectrum PAR lamp is truly exceptional—unlike any other PAR bulb you’ve used before. Install this PAR20 in your recessed cans where you’d typically use an R20 flood, and experience a crisp, vivid, and soothing quality of light that transforms any space.
Each Chromalux® PAR lamp—available in PAR20, PAR30, and PAR38 sizes—features a neodymium lens and pure silver reflector, working together to deliver unmatched color balance and enhancement.
Compared to traditional R-style flood lamps, PAR lamps produce a slightly narrower and more defined beam of light than a traditional flood, creating a refined, dimensional effect. We often describe R lamps as ideal for general lighting and PAR lamps as more elegant—though the two pair beautifully when used together in the same room.
An elegant upgrade to any setting, Chromalux® PAR lamps bring out the richness of textures and colors indoors—and make for stunning outdoor floodlighting as well.
Benefits
Many of the benefits of Chromalux® lie in our signature neodymium glass, which purifies light to provide the ultimate soft, crisp, and pure natural light that helps you see better and makes you feel better, all while providing your body with the pure, full spectrum of visible (and non-visible light) it requires.
Feel Better: Well-being all year round
Chromalux® provides your body with the pure full spectrum light it was designed to receive by closely mimicking nature's sunlight.
Just like the quality of food we ingest, the quality of light we use can make a difference in our overall well-being and vitality.
Chromalux® bulbs contain more of the soothing red spectrum with no artificial peaks in the visible light spectrum, which is consistent with natural daylight, and unlike most types of lighting available today.
See Better: Eye Health, Visual Comfort+Acuity
Chromalux® bulbs are naturally low in flicker, but the real difference is seen through its signature neodymium glass, which filters glare and creates better contrast and definition between colors, tones, and textures, to finally allow your eyes to relax and see clearer. Thanks to these inherent chromatic balance and color discriminating qualities, Chromalux® has been a top recommendation for the low vision population since the 1980s, and has been shown to enhance visual acuity.
Enhanced Environments: Pure+Vivid Colors
Chromalux® is the original neodymium glass light bulb, which works by purifying the visible light spectrum - removing glare and dulling frequencies - while strengthening violet, red, blue, and green values. As a result, light is filtered, cutting glare and revealing the most beautiful crisp and vivid colors.
The Chromalux® light bulb brings the beautifully enhanced colors, texture, and contrast inherently present under natural sunlight, back into the home.
Under Chromalux® light, you'll notice colors, textures, and tones become more vibrant and your home more alive: very much like photoshop for real life!
See better, feel better.
That’s been our motto for over 60 years and for good reason: unlike harsh, artificial lighting that can strain the eyes and dampen the spirit, the natural light of Chromalux® does as all light should: provide a pure light to help you see better and feel better.
Chromalux® full spectrum light bulbs are great for people, pets, and plants alike!
Chromalux® bulbs are the best full spectrum light bulbs for humans. But your pets and plants will love our natural light too.

Sizing Guide
Unsure what size you need?
Measure your current bulb's diameter and length from base to top, then select our bulb that is closest in size (scroll up to find a bulb's size under the tab entitled "specs"). Most BR30 bulbs and BR40 bulbs are comparable to our R30 and R40 bulbs, respectively. If you don't have an existing bulb, measure the diameter of your recessed fixtures.Usually, 3'' diameter = R20/PAR20, 4 or 5'' diameter = R30/PAR30, and 6'' diameter = R40/PAR38Our R25 bulb is an unusual shape, but is commonly used in either 4" or 5" cans.Pro tip: if any bulb is a bit shorter in length than the depth of your fixture, you can use something called an E26 socket extender to add an inch or so of length to your bulb and to drop it more flush with your fixture opening.
PAR Bulbs vs. R style Flood Bulbs
Both are perfect for use in either recessed can or track lighting.
Our PAR bulbs are considered narrow-flood lights, with a more defined beam spread, whereas R style bulbs are flood lights, with a wider beam angle and less defined beam of light.

Our Magic Element
Without ever turning it on, the most noticable quality of a Chromalux® light bulb is its lovely lavender glass. Responsible for this lovely tint and the pure light output of Chromalux® is the element neodymium.
A stunning lavender or blue color in appearance, neodymium is an earth element with some unique color enhancing and purification qualities.
Neodymium acts as a filter - absorbing dulling components of the visible light spectrum - like yellow - to purify your environment and naturally enhance colors and textures.
When used in Chromalux® light bulbs, these color enhancing and purification qualities are simply stunning.
Enhance your environment, see more clearly, improve your mood, and perhaps most importantly, feed your body real light.
What is the difference between a regular incandescent bulb and a Chromalux® incandescent bulb?
Other than superior bulb construction and quality, the main difference of a Chromalux® bulb is of course its unique neodymium glass composition, neodymium being the element that gives our bulbs their beautiful lavender appearance and outputs a pure and beautifully crisp vivid light. The Chromalux® bulbs gives off a uniquely purified light with a "rosy" feel. Colors appear more vivid, contrast is enhanced, and everything just looks and feels better!
What is the difference between reflector (R) flood bulbs and PAR bulbs?
While both are perfect for use in either recessed can or track lighting, the light beam of flood type light bulbs (R style light bulbs) have a less defined edge than a comparable PAR light bulb.
Flood bulbs are great for general illumination and covering large areas with light.
PAR bulbs are more like spot lights, with a defined and focused beam of light.
What is neodymium?
A common earth element, neodymium (pronounced nee-oh-di-mee-um) is compounded into the glass of all Chromalux® light bulbs and gives the bulbs their characteristic lavender colored glass. Acting as a sort of filter and magnifier, neodymium purifies the visible spectrum of light (particularly the yellow/green dulling wavelengths of light that our eyes are most sensitive to), while enhancing the appearance of reds, blues, and increasing contrasts between colors and tones.
Whereas most light bulbs (whether LED, incandescent, or halogen) produce dull light and can muddle colors as compared to natural daylight, Chromalux® and its special neodymium technology brings meaning to the phrase "seeing life in full color!"
Does this bulb have UV?
Chromalux® bulbs have a balanced visible spectrum of light, in addition to nourishing infrared. There is no UV light in these!
Is there blue light in these?
Like all incandescent light, the spectral balance of our light is very low in blue light and highest in red. We remind you that blue light in a full spectrum format — like that of sunlight or a full spectrum light bulb — is not an issue and actually necessary during the morning and daytime. The problem with blue light lies within unnatural emission, or blue light in isolation (device screens, generic LEDs).
